Falling into the Holiday Season

A Calendar of October Holidays

Every year, different holidays are celebrated around the world. Holidays are intended to allow people to celebrate an event or tradition of culture or religious significance. There are many different religious holidays that are celebrated every year. Holidays are usually celebrated during a month. For example, the Christian holidays are mostly celebrated at the end of the year and so are the Jewish holidays. In the month of September, Jewish holidays are coming soon and people prepare for the upcoming holidays. The Jewish holidays start in October and Pinnacle High School is lucky enough to receive days off for the holidays.

First, the Rosh HaShanah holiday starts on October 3 and ends on October 4. The Rosh HaShanah is the creation of the world that marks the beginning of the Day of Awe. It is one of the most important holidays that are celebrated in October. The Rosh HaShanah is the Head of the Jewish year. The festival begins on the first day of Tishrei.

Next, the Yom Kippur holiday is on October 12. The Yom Kippur is the most solemn religious fast of the Jewish year, it is also the last ten days of penitence that begins with Rosh HaShanah holiday. The Yom Kippur means “Day of Atonement” and it is the holiest holiday of the year. It is the time to dedicate the mind and body to ask for forgiveness.

After, the Sukkot holiday starts on October 17 and ends on October 23. The Sukkot holiday is the Feast of Booths. It is the fifth day after Yom Kippur and it is the Season of Rejoicing. It has a significance of historical and agricultural. The most important thing about the holiday is that it is the last holiday in October. It is celebrated after the last two holidays.

In Conclusion, the Jewish religion has a lot of important holidays. Every year the holidays helps families get together and celebrate. Overall, holidays are meant to be fun. October is one of the most important month of the year for the Jewish tradition. Most of the Jewish holidays are celebrating by praying and making up fun activities. Religion is really important to people and so are the holidays.
